Ducted air conditioning FAQs
How much does ducted air conditioning cost to install in Adelaide?
For most Adelaide homes a fully installed ducted system runs from around $14,000 for a smaller home up to $30,000 or more for a large or premium system. The price depends on the system size (kW), the number of zones and outlets, the brand you choose, and site factors like roof access and power supply. The calculator above gives an indicative price across our brands, and we confirm the exact figure at a site measure.
Is ducted air conditioning cheaper than several split systems?
For whole-home comfort, one ducted system is usually tidier and better value than putting a wall split in every room. You get a single quiet outdoor unit, hidden ductwork, zoned control room by room, and one system to service, rather than many units on your walls and multiple service visits.
What size ducted system do I need?
As a rough guide, a 3-bedroom home suits around 14kW, a 4-bedroom home around 16kW, and larger homes 18 to 25kW. The right size also depends on floor area, ceiling height, insulation and windows. The calculator estimates the size from your home, and we confirm it with a proper heat-load calculation at the site measure.
Can I pay off a ducted air conditioner?
Yes. We offer finance through the Brighte Green Loan, with weekly repayments over terms up to 10 years. Switch on Weekly repayments in the calculator to see an indicative weekly cost for each option. Rates, fees and approval are subject to Brighte’s terms.
Do I need three-phase power for ducted air conditioning?
Most homes run ducted systems on single-phase power. Only very large systems (around 25kW) need three-phase. If you are not sure what you have, we check your switchboard at the site measure.
Can I reuse my existing ductwork?
If you are replacing an existing refrigerated ducted system, the ductwork can often be reused to keep the cost down. If you are changing over from evaporative or gas ducted heating, the existing ducts are usually the wrong size for refrigerated cooling and should be replaced. We assess this for you at the site measure. It also pays to know the common air conditioning installation mistakes before you commit to a quote.
