Air Conditioner Repairs Adelaide
When your air conditioner stops working, you want two things: someone who can actually diagnose the fault, and a straight answer about what it will cost. That’s what we do.
T&K Airpower has been repairing air conditioners in Adelaide homes since 1996. We’re authorised warranty agents for Mitsubishi Electric, Hitachi and Temperzone, which means the manufacturers themselves trust us to diagnose and repair their systems. When the people who build these systems need someone in Adelaide to repair them under warranty, they call us.
We’re a repair-first business. If your system can be fixed properly and it makes economic sense to fix it, that’s what we’ll recommend. We don’t push replacements to make a sale.
What happens when our technician arrives
- We test before we touch. Your technician runs the system, checks the fault codes, and tests the electrical supply, refrigerant circuit and controls to find the real cause. A lot of “compressor failures” turn out to be something far cheaper.
- We explain it in plain English. You’ll know what failed, why, and what your options are.
- You get a fixed price. Approved before work starts. If we need to order a part, we tell you the timeframe honestly.
- We fix it properly. Our technicians are qualified in both refrigeration and electrical work, so if the fault sits on the electrical side, the same visit covers it. No second tradesman, no second call-out fee.
- We stand behind it. Every repair is backed by our workmanship guarantee.
Every brand, every system type
As authorised warranty agents for Mitsubishi Electric, Hitachi and Temperzone, we carry deep diagnostic knowledge of these systems, right down to individual fault codes. If your remote is flashing an error, our Mitsubishi Electric fault code library probably already explains it.
We also repair all other major brands, including Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Actron and Braemar, across ducted reverse cycle, wall splits and multi-head splits systems.
The faults we see most in Adelaide homes
-
- System running but not heating or cooling properly
- Fault code showing on the remote or wall controller
- Outdoor unit not starting, or starting then cutting out
- Air conditioner tripping the safety switch or circuit breaker
- Water leaking from the indoor unit
- Weak airflow from some rooms in a ducted system
- Outdoor unit making new or louder noise
- Zone control not responding
If your system is tripping the switchboard, that fault can sit on either side: the air conditioner or the circuit feeding it. Because our technicians are qualified electricians as well, we can test both in one visit. Most companies can’t.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does air conditioner repair cost in Adelaide?
It depends on the fault, but you’ll never be guessing. Our diagnostic visit is $199 for a single Storey property, and once we’ve found the fault we quote a fixed price for the repair before any work starts. Common repairs like capacitor replacements or sensor faults sit at the lower end. Refrigerant leaks and PCB replacements cost more. Either way, you approve the exact figure first.
Is it worth repairing my air conditioner, or should I just replace it?
Usually it’s worth repairing, and we’re upfront about when it isn’t. We’re a repair-first business: if the fix is sound and the system has life left in it, we recommend the repair. If the system is at the point where you’d be pouring money into it, we’ll tell you that too and explain why. You get the reasoning, not just the recommendation.
Do you offer air conditioner repairs for all brands?
We are the authorised warranty repairers for Mitsubishi Electric, Hitachi and Temperzone, which means we’re trusted to diagnose and repair these systems to manufacturer standards. We repair most other major brands including Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Samsung and Actron, across ducted and split systems.
Is it better to repair or replace my air conditioner?
Not every fault requires replacement. We take a repair-first approach and will give you honest advice based on the condition of your system, repair viability, and long-term performance – so you can make an informed decision.
Do you provide emergency air conditioning repairs?
Where possible, we prioritise urgent breakdowns, particularly during extreme weather. Availability can vary, but we always aim to respond quickly and communicate clearly.
Do you need to inspect the system before providing a quote?
Yes. Accurate repairs start with proper diagnosis. We inspect the system onsite before providing repair recommendations or pricing, ensuring the fault is identified correctly and addressed properly.
Do you service all areas of Adelaide?
We provide air conditioning repair services across metropolitan Adelaide and surrounding suburbs, including inner eastern, western and southern areas.
There's a fault code on my remote. What does it mean?
Each brand uses its own codes, and we’ve published guides for the most common ones for Mitsubishi Electric fault codes. The code tells us where to start looking, but it rarely tells the whole story. The same code can have several causes, which is why we test the system rather than just swapping the part the code points at.
My air conditioner keeps tripping the circuit breaker. Is that an air conditioning problem or an electrical problem?
It can be either, and that’s exactly why our setup helps. A tripping breaker can mean a fault inside the unit, a problem with the circuit feeding it, or a switchboard issue. Our technicians are qualified in both refrigeration and electrical work, so we test both sides in the same visit instead of sending you back and forth between two trades.
My ducted system heats some rooms but not others. Why?
Most often it’s a zoning issue: a zone motor or damper not opening properly, or the zone control playing up. It can also be ductwork that’s come loose or been crushed in the roof space. We inspect the ducting and zone hardware and quote the fix before doing anything.
Will my repair be covered under the manufacturer's warranty?
If your Mitsubishi Electric, Hitachi or Temperzone system is still inside its warranty period, possibly yes, and we’re the right people to ask because we’re the authorised warranty agents for those brands in Adelaide. We can assess whether the fault qualifies and handle the warranty process with the manufacturer directly.
How quickly can you come out?
Most of the time we have same day or next day availability. During heatwaves and cold snaps demand spikes, these spots to book out so booking early in the day gives you the best chance of a fast slot. Either way, we give you a clear arrival window and we keep to it.
